Mervyn's Reverses Bell Ringer Ban (3:55)

Listen | More on this broadcast

Mervyn’s department store chain has announced that Salvation Army bell ringers and red kettles are welcome at all of their stores. The move reinstates the Salvation Army’s exception to the company’s no solicitation policy. Until September, Mervyn’s was owned by the Target Corporation which changed its policy regarding the Salvation Army in January. Martha Kleder has more on this with Bob Knight, director of CWA’s Culture & Family Institute.
