Women Soldiers at Greater Risk under New Army Structure (12:04)

Listen | More on this broadcast

When the 3rd Infantry deployed to Iraq this year, it did so under a new structure called modular “units of action.” That structure combines support units with the combat teams and consequently places women soldiers closer to combat than they have ever been. Those changes are substantial enough to endanger the exclusion of women from any future military draft. Martha Kleder spoke with a good friend of CWA’s, Col. Robert Maginnis, USA ret., who now serves as a commentator for Fox News. He brings a commander’s perspective on these changes.
