CWA President Wendy Wright presented your petition signatures at the December 10 press conference at the United Nations.

December 10 is the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Rumor is that pro-abortion radicals will use this celebration to demand a universal right to abortion.

For years pro-abortion radicals have tried to strip the right to life from unborn children. They pressure countries to reinterpret U.N. documents and write new ones that deny children, families and parents of their human rights. They even claim that the "right to life" in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and treaties means a right to abortion!

We expect pro-abortion activists to present petitions making this ridiculous claim to the General Assembly, and we need to outdo them.

This is where you come in.

CWA prepared and presented a petition to the U.N. on December 10. It defends the human rights of unborn babies, of the family and parents quoting straight from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We're just asking U.N. authorities to uphold the principles that all nations agreed to when they became members of the U.N.

CWA alone got thousands of signatures, and we'd like to gather more.

We'll be your representative at the U.N. to present this petition to the U.N. We need to remind them, and for them to renew their commitment, to the basic principles of human rights. You can help them do that by signing CWA's petition.

Petition to the United Nations

We, the citizens of nations within the United Nations, in this 60th Anniversary year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:

Recall that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that:

"Everyone has the right to life, liberty and the security of person" (Article 3);

"The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State" (Article 16);

"Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance" (Article 26);

"Parents have the prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children" (Article 26);

Reaffirm that human rights and dignity, which constitute the basis for freedom and justice, are the common and fundamental bond of unity among mankind and nations, as noted in the preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, "the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world";

Reaffirm, as noted in the preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, that "a common understanding of these rights and freedoms is of the greatest importance for the full realization of this pledge."

Observing with grave concern the many dangers and threats to human dignity, to marriage, to the family and the resulting avalanche of societal ills now burdening nations;

Therefore, we call upon all governments and nations to recognize the proper interpretation and understanding of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that:

Every member of the human family through all stages of life has the right to life, liberty and the security of person;

The family deserves respect by society and governments as the fundamental group unit of society;

Motherhood and childhood deserve special care and assistance;

Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education given to their children.
