Under Speaker Pelosi's latest health care bill (p.110), the public health insurance option is required to provide coverage for abortion. And, in a most bizarre way, the bill provides that nothing prevents them from funding abortions for which public funding is prohibited! You can understand why abortionists are so excited about supporting the government take over of healthcare. Click here for more.
Because the government has the regulatory power, it has the ability control the market and drive out competition. Stifling competition not only affects prices, which the government of course can make up with taxes, but it also can affect the quality of care. Some argue the government is putting some restrictions to prevent itself from doing that, but that is a very dangerous proposition that will basically be driven by whoever is in power. Because of the amorphous standards delineated under current health care legislation, which included "standards, as appropriate, for the collection of accurate data on health and health care" based on "sex, sexual orientation [and] gender identity"— Obamacare may provide cosmetic "gender reassignment" surgeries for those who suffer from the APA recognized "Gender Identity Disorder" free of charge, courtesy of the American taxpayer. Not only are your medical records at risk under Obamacare, but your financial records too. The proposed bill expressly gives a new Health Choices Commissioner the right to look at an individual's tax return to determine what medical benefits or subsidies that person qualifies for. Under Obamacare, you could face substantial fines and even punishment for violating the plan's mandatory insurance requirement. It looks like the IRS may play enforcer for President Obama and the Democrats, even deciding if your insurance coverage is acceptable or not. Click here for more.
If the Obamacare is so great, why don't Members of Congress want it for them and their families? Rep. Dean Heller (R-NV) offered an amendment that would have required Members of Congress to get their health insurance through the proposed government-run plan. Needless to say, the amendment was killed in committee. Click here for more.

Meanwhile, education, political, and business leaders embrace the aims of a supposed "moderate" Islamic group. Brigitte Gabriel has a warning for our nation based on her experiences growing up in Lebanon, another open, predominantly Christian, democratic nation, that was slowly taken over by radical Islam. Brigitte Gabriel is the author of They Must Be Stopped, Why we must defeat radical Islam and how we can do it. She is also the founder of www.actforamerica.org, a grassroots organization aimed at waking Americans to this threat, and stopping the infiltration and eventual takeover of our nation by radical Islam. In his new book, The Right Hook - From the Ring to the Culture War, Matt Barber, Director of Cultural Affairs for Liberty Counsel and Associate Dean at the Liberty University School of Law, tells about his early days in the boxing ring and how lessons learned there equipped him for his current role in the culture war. The book also contains a collection of Matt's acerbic commentaries on issues of the day from health care, the radical homosexual agenda, and the right to life. Matt talks about his book, and the news it has created before it was even released. Listen | Download
