Statement of Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, Regarding the Planned Parenthood Vote

Statement of Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, Regarding the Planned Parenthood Vote
By: CWALAC Staff - 4/14/2011

“Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee’s half a million members around the nation are shocked by the fiscal irresponsibility of the 58 U.S. Senators who refused to tell Planned Parenthood Federation of America to raise their own funds and quit ripping off the taxpayer. Planned Parenthood receives a third of its annual budget, over $350 million a year, from our taxes. That’s almost one million dollars per day Americans are spending to prop up a leftist organization with profits of $63 million.

“Planned Parenthood is not only the nation’s largest abortion provider, it is an organization that has been caught red-handed covering up child rape and abuse and aiding sex traffickers. Americans should never be forced to fund such a destructive organization, especially at a time when our nation is swimming in debt.

“To those Senators who voted to continue to fund Planned Parenthood, we are certain your constituents are watching with interest. Planned Parenthood has a history of ignoring child abuse in pursuit of more profits from abortion.

“To vote to fund Planned Parenthood with taxpayer dollars is not only wrong, it is hurtful to women and children. See you in November.”
